Titus Kinimaka is a surf legend with over 5 decades of experience surfing these waves. Titus, how did surfing become your passion? Surfing’s been a passion in my family for a long time, I started surfing when I was two years old. Since then our school has been teaching thousands of people to surf on the garden island of Kauai.Titus, how did you decide to pass along the aloha and share your surf secrets with students. It started a long time ago, my brother started our surf school in 1960. Since then we’ve been continuing the tradition, so far so good. So far so good, how difficult for someone who has never set foot on a board to go out and catch their first wave? It’s not difficult, all you have to do is want it, and we have the best instructors. I’m going to show you how to get up, when you’re laying on your board like this, everyone gets up like a push up, push up and on your toes, and whichever foot wants to go forward naturally for you, you stick that up front.Bend your knees, keep your arms out like this. We have a formula and recipe for teaching. We guarantee we’re going to get you up on your first lesson or your lesson is free. So with the Titus school of surfing, you provide the equipment, the boards, the expertise, and all you have to do is come with a desire to surf. Absolutely, all you gotta do is show up. You just had your surf lessons, how was it? Great, so much fun. Even the littlest keiki can learn how to surf, how was it? Good! How hard was it getting up? It was easy! It was easy? Score! High five everybody.Yahoo!! Our Hawaiian school of surfing is located here in beautiful downtown Hanalei, most people meet us at my shop. We get them organized here as you can see we have quite an array of surfing gear and everything you need under the sun. There’s nothing quite like a day on the water with Titus Kinimaka, Kauai local and Hawaiian surf legend. Shoots, mahalo brother. Thank you, aloha. Aloha. .
